Greetings Spazbots! We wanted to just give you a brief update on some NEW stuff coming your way in May! One of the things we LIVE for err… function for? Not sure the right robot metaphor there… anyway… we like making NEW shows. When we debuted Spazbot Studios back in early March we had three shows on our roster, The Starting Zone, Stormcast Show and Dead Fans Talking! We are proud to say that all three shows have been doing very well, and numbers have been growing steadily. We also added a new Streaming / VOD show called Noob-A-Tron in April. You can check that show out here. It’s been fun doing a ‘video game streamer’. We are also hard at work on the re-launch of The Montgomery Manifesto Show!
But there is room for one more project. We are please to announce the SPAZBOT RADIO HOUR, a show that is not on the radio and it isn’t an hour. This is a show about Pop Culture with a Geek Friendly point of view! Just the way we like it. Right now the show is in development under the watchful eye of Spazbot Founder and Executive Producer, Mick Montgomery. We are looking for HOSTS and for PRODUCERS for this show. If you have a huge interest in things like, Comic Books, Movies, Video Games, TV Shows, Indie Music, Cosplay, Table Top Games, you name it, we will be covering it and we want you to be a part of it. Also, if you want to be a guest on the show, let us know as well via our CONTACT page, and we can have you on to help cross promote your project or talk about something you are passionate about.
Also, we want you to MAKE STUFF TOO! Mick Montgomery shares his thoughts on the integration of ‘micro podcasts’ into the show, “What is interesting about this show, is it will be our first foray into micro-podcasts. Spazbot Radio Hour celebrates this great big beautiful fanboy and fangirl landscape that we are living in, but we also recognize that we do not know EVERYTHING about EVERY nook and cranny of Geekdom. Therefore, while this show will have a traditional talk format with regular hosts and guest hosts, we want content creators to submit their own 1 – 3 minute long ‘micro’ podcasts which we will put at the end of our show, each week! They can be about any topic related to Nerd Culture, as long as they have a strong point of view. Also, they don’t have to be perfect. We’re willing to work with folks to help them learn how to produce a quality show. The goal is to create a real crowd sourced project!”
The obvious follow up question would be, why? “That’s a great question, I believe that there are a lot of really talented people out there, that just need the right forum to get started. We see this a lot in the World of Warcraft Podcast community. Shows like Convert to Raid or The Instance allowed folks to create bonus content for the show. In some cases, those people who made a 1 – 2 minute micro-cast went on to start up really awesome podcasts. Spazbot wants to be in the business of helping talented people get their point of view out there, whatever it is. I think this is the best way to do that.”
Given the rise in Parallel media creation, we asked Mick, if the show will also do in any live-streaming or if the podcasts will be available through any VOD service, “Yes, we plan to live stream the show via our Twitch Channel and then post the videos on our YouTube Channel. That’s just the way things are done now!”
